It's Barbecue Time! (again)

So.... let us celebrate spring, the new job, the beautiful weather, Misty's testing and job interviews, and whatever else you can think of.


In attendance were former co-workers, new co-workers, family (parents, wife, and daughters- Kevin was playing in a parade, but we didn't find out about it until we'd already set our date), and a few members of the local homebrewing club H.A.M.S.

I brought about 8 pints of my fresh brown bitter.

I really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for it:

Lauren found my old friend.

I may have figured out why these little guys aren't so shy. What are you doing, Renee?!

Beer.

I made it with ingredients I had left over from last year. You wouldn't know it to taste it, though.

Lake Manatee

We went fishing a couple weeks back at Lake Manatee. We'd never been there before. It was a very windy day so there wasn't too much boat traffic going on which was good since we could only fish off the docks.

It will be a nice place to fish if I ever get into a little boat. There was a guy there with a Gheenoo and I liked the little thing. I think it would sit on the van's luggage rack nicely.

The first two pictures were on our way in toward the docks. We saw the little fellow not 2 feet off the road. I have heard there is a good sized population of them here, but it's my first sighting. Thanks to Misty for the photos from the passenger seat!

The bird kind of whitewashed out because the sun was going down, but it's still a nice idea of the place.

Ammendment II

" A well organized militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the freedom of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Translation: Since the government will have guns, the citizens will have them too. We are thus protected from the government's guns. See Concord.

A Renewed Controversy

Maybe I'll do it myself, I've been looking for a new business idea. T-shirts may be just the thing.

About that looking for work thing...

I forgot to mention that I started a new job two weeks ago.

The people there seem really nice, including the owner and shop foreman who interviewed me. I hope to learn a lot there. I've never really done any grinding before and although I've used countless carbide drills before, it had never occured to me that I'd be making them someday.

It takes me back to my early days in the shop. All manual work with specialized machines, some of them built back in the '40s. It feels good to get my "hands on" again.

Hopefully I get the chance to snap some good photos, but perhaps not- lots of trade secrets there, don't ya know?


... oh, and it's day shift work. Back to the Blog!!!!!!!
