13th Anniversary (IV)

Day 3:

You can barely see (and boy are they hard to shoot!) the dolphins here. It took a couple days to get any pics of them since they don't pop up out of the water too much. They were active like the pelicans every morning in bad light.
This closer-up is the best I got:

Great Blue Heron:
And again with the GBH:
And the pre-dinner view, once again:

We had salmon with leeks. No pictures. I'll be sure to fix that next time we do anything like this. I did post some pics of salmon with leeks in the past if you're interested.

07 July 2008

Sunday started by looking like this: (sorry, I realize looking at the picture now that we need to wash the van)

And ended like this: (on the ride home)

With all this in between:

Some of Misty's relatives from Indiana were in town- Anna Maria Island to be more specific, so we went out to visit.

This poor umbrella just had the hardest time staying upright:

Self-portrait: (I'm not in the sand because I was seeking the shade after my Independence Day sunburn)

Kevin: (16 and cool)

See, the hardest time:

Lindy's pic-a-nic blanket:

Our poor sunburnt Devin, playing 'neath the umbrella:

Zack, Trey, Nick, and Kevin (left to right): (it's been a few years since they all saw each other, but they hung out on the beach and played "ladderball" like a bunch of guys hanging out at the beach)
I was not able to to get any good pictures of Lauren as she stayed out and under-water most of the afternoon.

Independence Day

We had a good ol' time, thanks to Ernesto and Pam's invitation. We met them out at South Lido Park where they had a great spot back off the nature trail.

I guess our food smelled pretty good. This little lady tried to pry the lid off Pam's baked beans dish while nobody was looking. (Credit to Misty for getting this photo)

Must have smelled really good! Look at all the boats that came in:

Devin's grapes:

Sea grapes:

I must have had my camera set to video by accident. I inteded to do a little macro shot of the sea grapes, but caught what appears to be an ant chasing off a fly.

Thanks, guys!

A beautiful day...

... through whiskey colored glass

Jack Daniel's single barrel, that is.

This was at Ken Thompson park. The anniversary of moving to first shift, just before moving to second shift.

The Live Oak

... that lives just past my front door.

25 April 2007

tree

While at MCC for the 50th anniversary celebration Saturday.

Do you like trees as much as I?
The Druids believed that rebirth as a tree was the highest form of reincarnation.

24 February 2006

'twas a dark and foggy night...

Taken upon exiting work, of course.

"Old Soul"

This tree in the graveyard in Key West (where we had taken a trip last year) sat in the midst of, and appeared to be protecting with its outspread limbs, a group of about 7 very small gaves.
Rather noble of it, we thought.

After Wilma

as can be seen at Ernie(notBert) , the boat's name is Windmachine... how ironic.

After the Rain...

Well, I see that Ernie(notBert) has beat me to it, but here you go anyway!

These (look closely) appeared as my family and I were returning home from Sunday's adventures.

03 September 2005

a break from the vacation photos

Sunday night, we went to South Lido for a picnic on the beach. Katrina's waves they were a'rollin' in.

As I ate my chicken teriyaki (it was a take-out Chinese picnic) I was being eyed by this fellow.

He was close enough for most of dinner that I could have grabbed his beak.

He really seemed to want a taste of his long lost cousin.
